Dear Friends,

In October 2007 Chef Stephanie Tyson and her partner Vivian V. Joiner opened a restaurant at 200 Brookstown Avenue called The Cotton Mill. It was simple, elegant and southern in style and cuisine.

This month would mark the one year anniversary of The Cotton Mill restaurant; sadly though, we had to close.

The economy, poor timing, fate….. and /or a few other reasons surely played a part.

Stephanie and I would simply like to take a moment and thank you all for your well wishes and encouragement. We hope that if you did visit The Cotton Mill you enjoyed our offerings. If you meant to get there but just hadn’t made it yet – it’s okay. We still have the chance to meet and you can enjoy the flavors and creative pairings of Stephanie’s uniquely southern style of cooking at Sweet Potatoes (well shut my mouth!!) – a restaurant.
